This is my first post. Recently acquired a AGFA AccuSet 1000 Plus. Before buying it, testing was performed on a Taipan 2.1, the test came out perfect. A power cable which is easy to spot. If the RIP is internal, the other cable will be an ethernet cable. If it is a big fat cable much thicker than an ethernet cable, the other end is where your RIP is. I haven't done the setup from Vista so hopefully someone who has will pipe up. - Allen pdan 23/9/2008, 14:45 น. 'Allen Wessels' wrote in message news:[email protected]. Agfa offered (at least on the Accuset 1000) in internal rip. It's just a HDD that the runs the engine. It doesn't do anything, but IMO neither does any other RIP without a couple thousand bucks additional thrown in. (We're talking small shop requirements here). It's an ethernet cable to the machine using Appletalk. I just enable TCP/IP protocol in the machines options, but not seeing it on a Windows machine.yet. Allen Wessels 23/9/2008, 14:59 น. You may have to enable LPR protocol on that RIP as well, and then set up a proper port on the Windows machine. - Allen Steve/Aus 23/9/2008, 17:26 น. You may to assign a static IP to the machine. I don't have an imagesetter but I do have a postscript (web fed) printer and it don't understand DHCP assigned IP addresses. Give your computer a static IP as well (assuming you are using TCP/IP protocol) As Allen suggested, check ports. If that fails you may need to set it as a local port (LPT1) with the drivers. Then after installation of drivers change the porting ( Accuset1000 print or something similar) A lot of XP drivers will not work with Vista, you may need an updated driver - worth checking.
